A Message From The Founder
Hi there, all you wonderful pet guardians! My name is Christopher Dill, and I’m the owner and Chief Care Coordinator of Sunshine Pet Care. I spent the first 10 years of my career working to help Chicago’s homeless find housing, get healthy, and develop the skills they need to find employment. Along the way, I’ve always loved animals. All of them. Big or small, cat or dog, cow or pig…..I love them all the same.
When I learned about the plight of homeless pets in Chicago and around the country, I decided I had to do whatever I could to help. I learned very quickly that although there seems to be a never-ending supply of homeless pets, there’s also an army of wonderful people and rescue organizations out there working like crazy every single day to save as many lives as possible. Since I can’t do it all myself, I decided I needed to provide support to the biggest and best no-kill shelter in the area…..PAWS Chicago. So, I got myself a part-time job there as a caregiver. Then I set my sights on something bigger – building an organization that raises money for rescue organizations.
That’s how Sunshine Pet Care came to be.

That means that providing the highest quality dog walking and pet sitting involves tailoring our services specifically for each and every pet. What Happens On Your Visits?
- We feed your pets as instructed

Do You Do Monday Through Friday Walks?
Yes! We offer up to three 25 min walks (or longer) to get your best friend all the exercise, sniffs, and potty time she needs every day!
How Do We Get Started?
Contact us at (224) 347-3597 and we’ll arrange an initial consultation – or “Meet and Greet” – in your home. Your primary (and back-up) pet sitter or dog walkers will meet with you and your pets. We’ll go over each and every last detail about your pet’s needs and take you out on a short practice walk to be sure we have all the info we need to give you both the best service possible.
How Do I Prepare For The Meet and Greet
We’ll send you the paperwork ahead of time so you can look it over and sign it. That way, we can focus on interacting with your pet (s) and learning where things are while we’re there.
You will need to have two sets of keys available to your pet sitter. Your sitter keeps one key while the second key is kept in a locked box in the main office as a backup. You can ask for your keys back at anytime.
Speaking of Back Up…As a professional pet sitter, it’s our responsibility to have a backup plan in case of emergencies, vacations or sickness. It happens.
